Kroll Diner ND Roughrider Marathon
Bismarck, North Dakota
Saturday, June 20, 2008
Saturday, June 20, 2008 was a perfect day to race-walk the Kroll Diner ND Roughrider Marathon held in Bismarck, North Dakota. The temperature was 55 degree at the start and rose to around 70 degrees when I finished with a gentle breeze and sunshine. The course was a mixture of bike paths and rural roads. Water stations were space every 1.5 miles or so and had plenty of volunteers providing water and Gatorade. There were only two places requiring police to control traffic in the out and back course. The race was small with about 180 participants in the marathon. It was extremely well organized and actually had quite a few spectators for such a small race. I would recommend this event to anyone and probably will do the event again in the future.
