Half Marathon of the Palm Beaches

On Sunday, December 7, 2014 I race walked the Half Marathon of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Florida. The weather was wonderful as the skies were clear with a light breeze and a temperature that varied from 66 to 74 degrees. The course was entirely flat on roads that were closed to traffic. Police and volunteers controlled the intersections. Water/Gatorade stations were located approximately every 1.5 miles and were manned by plenty of efficient enthusiastic volunteers. There were approximately 2200 finishers in the Half Marathon and 450 finishers in the full marathon. The event has been held for 11 years and I have competed in each of the years. I enjoyed myself.
