Missoula Half Marathon
Missoula, Montana
Sunday, July 15, 2018
On Sunday, July 15, 2018 I race walked the Missoula
Half Marathon in Missoula, Montana. It
was a nice day for the race as the temperature varied from 53 to 69 degrees
with sunny skies and no wind. The course
was a point to point journey over paved roads that started in the outskirts of
Missoula and finished in the downtown. The
course for the most part was flat; however, there was some gentile up and down
in the first three miles. The roads for
the most part were closed to traffic and police officers controlled traffic at
key intersections. Water/Powerade
stations were located every 1 to 1.5 miles and were manned by plenty of
friendly efficient volunteers taking care of the needs of the 3137 finishers in
the half marathon and 1034 finishers in the full marathon. This event has been held for 12 years and I
have done 8 of them- 2 marathons and 6 half marathons. The event has always been very well organized
and fun to do,
