Madison Mini Marathon
Madison, Wisconsin
Saturday, August 18, 2018
Saturday, August 18, 2018 was a nice day to do the
Madison Mini Marathon in Madison, Wisconsin.
The temperature varied from 62 to 72 degrees with mostly sunny skies and
little wind. The course was mostly flat
with several small up and downs that were not very challenging with 12 miles on
city roads and the rest on a paved bike paths.
All road were completely closed to traffic and usually consisted of two
or more lanes. Numerous police officers
controlled the intersections to ensure the safety of the 2521 finishers in the
half marathon and 809 finishers in the 5K.
Water/Gatorade stations were locate from 1 to 1.5 miles apart and were
manned by plenty of friendly efficient volunteers that had numerous tables
spread out having Gatorade first and water second. This was the tenth year for the event but my
first time participating. The event was
very well organized and fun to do.
