Key Bank Vermont City Marathon
Burlington, Vermont
Sunday, May 27, 2007

I race walked the Key Bank Vermont City Marathon in Burlington, Vermont on Sunday, May 27, 2007. It was well organized medium size marathon of about 2500 entries. The race started on the top of a hill near Battery Park, over-looking Lake Champlain and finished below near the lake. Despite the fact that Burlington is fairly hilly, the course was designed to be relatively flat as altitude was lost and gained gradually except for one challenging hill of about a half of a mile in length near mile 15. The course kept crossing the starting line (4 times) making it easy for spectators to view the event. The temperature varied between 50 and 70, almost windless, and overcast for the first three hours. Then it began sprinkling for the remainder of the race with a hard downpour of about 30 minutes. I enjoyed the Memorial Day Weekend.

I took many pictures which I will post in following postings.
