Gasparilla Marathon

Sunday, February 10, 2008 was a wonderful day to do the Gasparilla Marathon in Tampa, Florida. The temperature ranged from 54 to 71 degrees with much sun and some wind. The course was as flat as any with plenty of enthusiastic volunteers, performers, and police to control the traffic. Water/Gatorade stations were located every mile to mile and a half. The race as always is well organized with nice awards. The event started on Saturday with a 5K and 15K race and continued on Sunday with the marathon and half marathon bringing around 17000 participants to the event.
The Gasparilla pirate festival was also in progress making plenty to do while not racing.
