Celebration Half Marathon
Celebration, Florida
Sunday, January 26, 2020
On Sunday, January 26, 2020 I race walked the Celebration Half Marathon in Celebration, Florida. It was a nice day for the event as the temperature varied from 48 to 65 degrees with mostly sunny skies and little breeze. The course was flat through city streets and wooden boardwalks. The main roads had a dedicated lane for the 1760 half marathon finishers and the 329 marathon finishers. Police and volunteers controlled the intersections. There was an extreme amount of turns, but each had cones and several volunteers. Water/Gatorade stations were located approximately every 1 mile and had plenty of friendly efficient volunteers taking care of the needs of the participants. This is my first time doing this event that was extremely well organized and fun to do.
